Our Vintage Lunch took place on 23 June
Roses, sandwiches, Brazilian sweeties, sausage rolls, some raw veggies and lots of strawberries!
We are sorry if you missed our lovely indoor picnic for this month’s Vintage “lunch”.

Jane Wilson awarded rose prizes, and here she is holding up the beautifully unusual (1st prize) roses replanted in her new garden by Joan Ward (Helen Machon’s Mum). May all our new friends “transplanted to Beverley” flourish so well. Erik spoke to us about the beauty and transience of flowers, and of our own lives. Huge thanks to Michelle Glover, Carole Crossland, Sandra Robson,
John Hood, Andy Laird, Ann Jepson and all the others who worked so hard for us on that very hot day. Our next lunch is on Tuesday 28 July at 12.30.
Another lovely Pilgrimage to a garden: that of Ian and Angela Dempsey on Wednesday morning.
We marvelled at the changes wrought by just 3 months, having first visited the garden in early spring.
Below is a picture of Peter and Caroline’s garden. We love gardens big and small, pots and patios, weeds and wormholes!
If yours is looking splendid this summer and you would like some of us to come and admire it, please tell Carolyn or someone else from the vintage team: Casandra,
John Faulkner or Michelle Glover. We usually have groups from 7 to 12 and you don’t have to do a thing: we bring juice and pilgrim (i.e. not fancy) biccies.
A few chairs help, but Carolyn keeps 5 extra in her boot for emergencies.
